Capital Oil Refining Industries Ltd. (CORI) was initiated by M.F.A.Karim & K.A Karim in the early 80’s. The Vegetable Oil Plant was set up for the processing of cottonseeds & sunflower seeds which are crushed and double refined to produce quality cooking oil. The production started in 1988 and the famous brand ‘Kukoma’ was introduced which enabled CORI to mark its presence in Malawi and establish as pioneers in the edible oil field.
CORI factory installation includes decorticating plant, crushing plant for cottonseed and a refinery that results in the manufacturing of double refined pure vegetable oil.
The production line at CORI is explicitly based on International Standards as regular tests are made during the production process so as to produce high quality final products. All products at CORI comply to the Malawi Bureau of Standard (MBS), a government organisation that controls the hygiene prospects of foods in Malawi.
At this date, CORI proudly supplies cooking oil to the majority of the market in Malawi and due to its quality, demand and affordability prospects, CORI intends to embark on a latest technology Refinery plant that will enable export opportunities to neighbouring countries.
